The sci-fi, flying shooter is to be released on the Xbox series X/S platforms in just over a weeks time.

Aaero2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Aaero’ (2017). The game has (impressively) been completely rebuilt from the ground up.

Trace ribbons of light to release the energy in the music as you speed through stunning alien worlds. Fly solo or team up with a friend. Encounter strange enemies and giant boss creatures. Unleash devastating missile barrages and rain heavy cannon fire to the beat of the epic soundtrack from Monstercat.

Creative Director of the title’s developer “Mad Fellows” Paul Norris remarked “We originally anticipated a September release, but that turned out to be too optimistic. Given how long Aaero2 has been in development, we want to make sure we get it right before launching.”

“As we shift our focus to the PC Steam version of Aaero2, we’re offering a demo of the near-finished game to PC players. This will not only give them a taste of what’s to come but also provide us with valuable feedback.

Paul also remarked on the multiplayer aspects of the game, further commenting

“From the start, I insisted that if Aaero2 featured multiplayer, it would need to support both local and online play. Too often, I’ve been excited about a co-op game only to discover it’s local only.

Incorporating online play into Aaero2 introduced a host of additional challenges. The game mechanics had to be carefully designed to reduce the impact of latency between players. On top of that, the certification process for an online-enabled game is significantly more complex.

Leaderboards sparked intense competition in the first game, and I can’t wait to see score-chasers go head-to-head online.”
