Across the Wonderlands invites players into a captivating crafting adventure where they can construct their magical base dimension and create delightful dishes to battle quirky foes on their journey to the star that has crashed on their planet.

This game offers a great deal of freedom. You can smash any deposit in your path to collect seedlings or interesting ingredients, which can then be quickly added to an object with slots (like a cupcake), granting it various attributes (such as making slugs float). Since (almost) anything is edible and throwable, you can experiment on yourself or your foes.

What’s intriguing is that you carry your base on your back—it’s stored in a magical briefcase that you can access at any time outside of combat. Inside, you can build structures or skill buildings, feed charming creatures, plant trees, and prepare for your next adventure. Switching the time of day or tuning into your own music on the radio is a nice addition as well.

Additionally, Across the Wonderlands promises cooperative gameplay for up to four players, along with comprehensive mod support during its Early Access, scheduled to launch at the end of next year. This feature encourages players to tackle challenges, craft, build, and battle together while smashing objects and tossing food at each other.

Players can currently enjoy a tutorial demo that lets them explore the floating islands of the Sanctuary, craft sample dishes, and take on Snotty and his slug buddies. Play it while you can—the Steam Next Fest won’t last forever!
