Gamescom Latam announces participation of co-founder of The Tetris Company, games selected for national and international showcase and more.

  • Henk Rogers, responsible for popularizing Tetris worldwide, will launch the book The Perfect Game – Tetris: From Russia with Love directly at the event
  • Gamescom Latam 2025 announces the 40 games taking part in Gamescom Latam Brazil panorama sponsored by Banco do Brasil, the national non-competitive exhibition
  • Also, there are 20 games participating of Gamescom Latam world panorama, the international non-competitive online exhibition

Visionary entrepreneur and gaming legend Henk Rogers, founder of The Tetris Company, has confirmed his presence at Gamescom Latam 2025, which takes place from 30th April to 4th May at Anhembi District in São Paulo.

Known for being responsible for popularizing Tetris worldwide, the guest will take part in a panel moderated by renowned American games journalist Dean Takahashi, on 2nd May. They will discuss Roger’s journey in discovering the international phenomenon Tetris and his role in Nintendo’s Game Boy launch. Also, Rogers will participate in a photo and autograph session with visitors

In addition, Henk Rogers will launch his recent book, The Perfect Game – Tetris: From Russia with Love, directly at Gamescom Latam 2025. In the book, the entrepreneur explores his early days programming The Black Onyx, Japan’s first major RPG, before immersing readers in his daring quest to secure the rights to Tetris, which culminated in the popularization of the game that has become one of the best-selling titles in history.

National and international game exhibitions

Gamescom Latam 2025 also reveals the games selected for two non-competitive exhibitions. The first is the Gamescom Latam Brazil panorama sponsored by Banco do Brasil which will present 40 games by national developers, with 7 games created by students. Throughout the days, the area will allow visitors not only to learn more about regional game production, but also to talk to the developers in person, pick up tips, ask questions about curiosities and learn more about the titles. The second one is Gamescom Latam world panorama which will feature titles from outside Brazil. For this non-competitive showcase, 20 games from 14 countries were selected, including ones from Paraguay, Spain, France, China, and Cyprus. Unlike the Brazilian version, in this exhibition, the games will only be available online, on the Gamescom Latam website. The list of selected titles is as follows:
