Ubisoft have finally lifted the lid on the 5th Far Cry experience that we can enjoy. Although we will be waiting until 2018 to fully enjoy it, Far Cry 5 sounds like it will already contend GOTY in 2018!
Far Cry 5 will be coming to the PlayStation 4 (Pro included), Xbox One, PC and also has been confirmed to be coming to Project Scorpio on February 27th, 2018. It is set in America, Montana, and players will be able to navigate this serene-looking yet deeply twisted world solo or entirely in two-player co-op as they fight for survival and freedom. Here is the official plot for Far Cry 5:
As the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana, players will find that their arrival accelerates a years-long silent coup by a fanatical doomsday cult, the Project at Eden’s Gate, igniting a violent takeover of the county. Caught off guard and drawn into a power struggle, players must disrupt the carefully laid plans of the Project at Eden’s Gate, and fan the fires of resistance to help liberate the Hope County community and themselves.
Players will visit many unique locations throughout Hope County, all offering a different gameplay experience. They will also get behind the wheel of iconic American muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs and boats. Vehicles also provide refuge when under attack by animals or as a way to quickly escape when things don’t go as planned.
You can also recruit help in the form of Guns for Hire or Fangs for Hire, letting you have help from a large cast of characters or animals. You can approach each situation however you see fit, due to the freedom you will get throughout the entire Far Cry 5 experience.
The map editor also returns, letting you create and play playgrounds limited by only your imagination. It will include new features, adding a dimension to the content created by fans. More details on this will be revealed soon.
