The Spanish league boasts some of the world footballs leading powerhouses. The likes of Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona, Sevilla, and the reigning UEFA champions league holders Real Madrid have all had a wealth of success in recent years and possess an abundance of talent. Last season it’s safe to say Atletico and Barcelona had mixed results and another calendar year can only mean one thing. A new FIFA game (yay).
EA Sports have unveiled the top 25 players from La Liga, so lets have a look at the list and see which club gets the bragging rights.

By my calculations we have eight FC Barcelona representatives, eight from Real Madrid and just three from Atletico Madrid followed by Villarreal on two. Unsurprisingly , the list is bossed by Spain’s leading two clubs with the highest amount of financial clout. A little more surprising is the lack of Atletico Madrid players, Griezmann has had a big fall from grace of his FIFA high of 89 just two editions ago. (FIFA 20) To see not one Atletico defender on the list is somewhat surprising as well. The team known around the world for the best defensive football and not 1 defender in the top 25 is an eye-opener.
The usual veterans who have performed admirably in La Liga continue to be ever stays. (Modric, Kroos for example) whilst one could argue Joáo Felix coming off the back of his best output in a season for Atleti should have made the top 15. We also see the likes of Pique, Koke, Dembele, and David Silva all lose out despite the league losing the likes of Casemiro and Aubameyang. (Both would have been entrants in the list.)
