Octahedron: Transfixed Edition Arrives on Switch

Our good friends at the Square Enix Collective have today announced the launch of Octahedrom: Transfixed Edition on the Nintendo Switch.

Already available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Octahedrom is a vibrant neon platformer. It is priced at £9.99. Phil Elliott, director of indie publishing for Square Enix Limited stated:

Octahedron is just right for the Nintendo Switch, and this new, updated edition of the game has been crafted to fit the platform perfectly

On this episode of Hype from Outer Heaven, join Kyle, Brandon, Caleb and Prince as they discuss long-dormant franchises that are in desperate need of a reboot. Franchises like Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Legacy of Kain, SOCOM: US Navy Seals etc. are just a few examples of once prolific franchises that have been left at the side of the road. Is it due to a lack of interest? or has the very nature of gaming changed, with investors and publishers not giving long-dead franchises the time of day based on the fact that they would be a financial gamble? If so, they usually end up in development purgatory and eventually cancelled (such is the case of Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun) or doomed to the realm of mediocrity with a chewed up and spat out mobile game that has all the depth and charisma of a jellied eel. From Prince’s love for Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia, to Kyle’s somewhat overlong fanboying for the Legacy of Kain franchise and calls for it’s return, and Caleb’s worry of the return of Duke Nukem in the current political climate, the lads engage in a debate about their forgotten franchises they would like to see return, whilst coming to terms that they’ll all be nearly forty or over by the time The Elder Scrolls VI releases.
