Oh sweet candy bacon how I’ve been proven wrong! Hope has been restored as of today when Square Enix released a new trailer for the Loch Ness Monster of all games-Kingdom Hearts 3. The 2 minute trailer packed with gameplay featuring all new gameplay mechanics as well as some familiar ones including form changes and flowmotion. We also see the beloved trio of Sora, Donald and Goofy return to the Olympus Colosseum doing battle with new Heartless and the returning Rock titan, a fight which has been featured in previous trailers but it doesn’t make this boss battle look less impressive.
We also get an insight to some story elements and see the return of such villains as Hades, Pete and Maleficent as well as appearences from Xemnas and Xehanort’s Heartless. The synopsis isn’t all that clear as of yet with the trailer being entirely in Japanese (our buddies to the east are lucky!)
With this being revealed so close to E3 will all of us at Game Hype be proven wrong? Will the allusive Kingdom Hearts 3 be present at the showcase? It has already been revealed that a new trailer, as well as a new world will be unveiled at the D23 Expo on July 15th, so it’s unlikely but we can still hope can’t we?
With my hope restored and seeing how fantastic this game looks it almost makes the sting of a possible 2020 release date bearable, to see for yourselves check out the trailer below:
